Accessibility at Call Bear
Last updated July 11, 2026
Accessibility isn't a feature we added to Call Bear — it's the reason Call Bear exists. Call Bear is built for people who find phone calls difficult, draining, or impossible: people with anxiety, with speech or hearing differences, who are hard of hearing, who cannot speak at all, or who simply need a calmer way to handle their line. Your Call Bear answers the phone for you, holds a clear, well-spoken conversation, and lets you take part in your own words, on your own terms. Making that experience — and everything around it — usable by as many people as possible is the whole point.
The short version
- Call Bear exists to make the phone accessible — including for people who cannot speak.
- We build the app and this site to work with the accessibility features already on your device, and we aim to meet recognized accessibility standards.
- We're not finished, and we won't pretend to be. If something gets in your way, tell us and we'll help you and fix it.
Our commitment
We want Call Bear to be usable by everyone who needs it, regardless of how they see, hear, move, or speak. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA for this website, and to follow the platform accessibility guidance for our mobile app. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a certificate: we test as we build, we learn from the people who use Call Bear, and we keep improving.
How we build for accessibility
- Works with your device's tools. We design Call Bear to work with the accessibility features built into your phone — such as screen readers (VoiceOver), larger and bolder text (Dynamic Type), reduced motion, and increased contrast — rather than fighting them.
- Readable and clear. We aim for plain language, clear structure and headings, meaningful labels on buttons and controls, and text that stays legible when you scale it up.
- Not dependent on speaking. Setting up and steering your Call Bear is done by choosing and typing in the app — never by having to speak — and your Call Bear can carry a spoken conversation on your behalf. During a call it can quietly check with you and take your typed guidance, so you can take part without saying a word out loud.
- Calm by design. We try to avoid unnecessary urgency, flashing, and clutter, and to give you time — the product is meant to reduce stress around the phone, not add to it.
Where we're still improving
No product is perfectly accessible, and we'd rather be honest than oversell. Some areas may not yet fully meet the standard we're aiming for, and third-party components (for example, our sign-in and payment steps) may have their own accessibility characteristics that we don't fully control. We treat accessibility gaps as bugs and prioritize fixing them.
Tell us — and ask us for what you need
If any part of Call Bear is hard to use, or if you need information or help in a different way, we want to hear from you — it genuinely helps us improve, and we'll do our best to assist you directly in the meantime. Email support@call-bear.com with what you were trying to do, what got in your way, and your device if you can. A real person will read it and get back to you, and we'll work with you to find a way through.
