Deleting your account
You're always in control of your data.
You can delete your Call Bear account and its data whenever you want, right from the app. Deletion is permanent, so here's exactly how to do it and what it removes.
How to delete your account
In the Call Bear app:
- Open the Account tab.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm by typing DELETE when asked.
That's it — the deletion runs right away.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account destroys your Call Bear and the data tied to it, including:
- your Call Bear and its configuration (name, voice, personality, expected-caller rules, and saved answers);
- your messages, and any call transcripts and audio recordings;
- your line and related call data;
- your sign-in.
Your subscription is canceled as part of deletion.
A couple of things to know first
- Your phone number is deleted with your Call Bear and may not be possible to get back.
- If you have an active subscription, deletion cancels it and automatically refunds the unused portion of the current billing period. The app shows you the exact amount before you confirm.
The three things we keep — and exactly how long
Everything above is deleted immediately. Three minimal records are kept afterward, each for a specific legal reason, and each deletes itself automatically the moment its period ends — the timers are enforced by our database, not by anyone remembering:
- Basic billing links — our Stripe customer and subscription IDs, amounts, and dates. Card numbers never touch our servers. Kept because tax and accounting law requires keeping financial records: 7 years. (Stripe, as a regulated payment processor, keeps its own records of past payments.)
- Consent and agreement evidence — a recording-consent answer with a scrambled (hashed) caller ID, and, if you subscribed, a minimal record that you agreed to our terms and the price you accepted (terms version, plan, and amount). No audio, no transcript, no call content, no card numbers. Kept to be able to show a call was consented to, or that a charge was agreed to, if a legal claim is ever made: about 4 years and 3 months.
- A minimal deletion receipt — a scrambled account identifier and the dates your deletion ran; nothing else, used for nothing else. Kept because privacy law expects proof that your deletion happened and stays honored: 25 months.
Beyond those: our server logs age out within 30 days, we keep no long-term database backups, and notifications already sent to your devices aren't recalled.
